Employees of Community Living Wallaceburg, people supported and the public gathered at MacDonald Park along the St. Clair Parkway on Friday, December 16 for a cheque presentation with representatives from the United Way of Chatham-Kent. Staff members raised $5,624, well surpassing their $5,000 goal. The agency’s Executive Director, David Katzman,
was then joined by the United Way’s North Chatham-Kent Campaign Co-Chair, Travis Hooper, and the agency’s Coordinator, Communication and Fund Development, Ron Laroche, for a polar bear plunge in Wallaceburg’s Snye River. The trio honoured their pledge to wade into the icy water after the campaign target was met. They agreed to a second dip in the river when some employees pledged additional dollars to the campaign.
