Volunteer Opportunities

Community Living Wallaceburg is a progressive association that enables people to realize their potential and choices within inclusive communities. All people have something to offer the community, if given the opportunity to get involved. If you are able to provide transportation, create a sports or recreational partnership, provide an opportunity for individuals to volunteer, tutor for reading, crafts, computers or cooking, or if you would like to be a companion you may want to consider one of the following volunteer positions:

PERSONAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEER: provides encouragement and support to people with disabilities, enabling them to attend and participate in community activities. In addition, they may give direction to individuals taking part in a variety of workshops and classes, while some actually develop and facilitate an activity or workshop. Your talent may be music, crafts, computers, tutoring, sports, sewing or cooking. Or maybe you can assist someone to volunteer with your organization. If you believe that everyone should be given a chance to be part of his or her community, we want to hear from you.

TRANSPORTATION VOLUNTEERS: provide transportation to individuals for appointments and other commitments. The Association has fully accessible vehicles available for use.

FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEERS: This volunteer position offers the opportunity to participate in a variety of fundraising activities, such as the annual Golf Classic, Travel Club Lottery and Box Lunch. If assisting with fundraising efforts that enhance the programs and services offered by the Association is appealing, we would like to hear from you.

COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS: are involved in groups, such as the Resource Committee, Human Rights Review Committee and the Family Directed Supports Parent Advisory Committee, all of which are a vital part of the Association. The commitment required of these volunteers varies with each committee.

HERE’S HOW TO APPLY!

Since Community Living Wallaceburg is in the people business, it is our responsibility to ensure that personal security and welfare is addressed. This is done formally through interviews with potential volunteers, as well as personal and criminal reference checks. Orientation and training are provided.
