Thanking the Community for Over 20 Years of Partnership
A Farewell to Community Living Wallaceburg’s Employment Services Program
The New Year brings about new chapters and such is the case for Community Living Wallaceburg’s Employment Services Program.
The Province is currently undergoing significant changes in the way it operates and funds employment support programs. After careful consideration, Community Living Wallaceburg has determined that it will be unable to move forward as a service provider under this new model. As a result, the Employment Services Program is winding down and officially closing as of February 29, 2024.
Roger Romses, Acting Executive Director with the Agency states, “For over 20 years, Community Living Wallaceburg’s Employment Services Program has had the privilege of supporting hundreds of people with disabilities and other employment related barriers to secure meaningful employment. We are truly proud of the contributions this service has made in Wallaceburg and across Chatham-Kent, building inclusivity and equal opportunity for everyone within the workforce.”
Romses adds, “We know that meaningful employment has the potential to significantly improve someone’s quality of life, and people with diverse abilities have so much to offer in the workplace. Our Agency is grateful for all the hard working clients and dedicated Employer Partners we have had the pleasure of working with throughout the years. This network has helped us in realizing our vision: With the support of those around them, people can Dream, Believe, Overcome, and Achieve.”
The Agency’s first priority during this change has been minimizing any service disruption to current clients and Employer Partners with the focus of facilitating referrals to other designated service providers. The Agency thanks everyone for the continued support and collaboration in building an inclusive community.
