To the Family and Friends of Community Living Wallaceburg,
As the provincial stay-at-home order comes to an end, we all wait with anticipation for the implementation of phase 1 of Ontario’s “Roadmap to Reopen”, expected to happen on June 14th. Undoubtedly one question that many of the people we support (as well as family and friends) are asking is “when can I go and visit my family in their home?” During the stay-at-home order, our Agency facilitated on-site outdoor family visitor for Essential Visitors. While we hope that this has reduced some of the strain that restrictions have placed on families and the people we support, we know that this is not the same as regular visits to the family home.
Our most recent communication from the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services continues to permit outdoor on-site visits. However, as the province and region embark on the 3-step roadmap, we are awaiting further direction and clarity on how to support and manage visits to family homes.
We know that people are anxious for further information as we move into the summer months and we appreciate the patience and support that we’ve received from the people we support, extended family and friends, and our employees throughout this process. Please know that as soon as we are able to take further steps they will be communicated to you.
Thank you,
Deborah Hook Roger Romses
