As a young girl living on her family farm, Tascha was surrounded by all kinds of animals including chickens, pigs, goats, donkeys and so many more! Over the 5 years spent on the farm, her affection for animals only continued to grow, and her passion for fostering was born. It all began with a stray cat named Scootch, the first animal she rescued and later adopted. Tascha continued to rescue other animals including ducks and rabbits to the safety of the farm. This deep and abiding love for all animals went unchanged as she transitioned into her new home here in Wallaceburg, where she continues to provide homeless outdoor cats in her neighborhood food, water, and a special safe haven to stay warm.

Tascha has a real talent for retaining facts about how to care for all kinds of animals.  A perfect representation of the care she shows to animals, Treats, Tascha’s 9 year old pet guinea pig, pictured in the photo, has surpassed the average life span of guinea pigs. Together, the pair have formed an inseparable bond, so trusting that Treats is able to explore the backyard without any fear of him running away.

“Animals should be treated as if they are a member of your family, and should never go hungry, unloved or mistreated;” a belief held so dear to Tascha’s heart, it fueled her dream of helping as many other animals within her community as possible. With the support of both Community Living Wallaceburg and the broader geography of Wallaceburg, Tascha was able to make her dream a reality by amassing donations of new and gently used pet beds, toys, treats and food.
