Families and Friends of Community Living Wallaceburg,

A year and a half into this pandemic, we continue to see our daily lives significantly impacted by COVID-19. As you know, Chatham-Kent is currently one of the hotspots in the province and the Delta variant has caused a fourth wave that is proving considerably more dangerous and pervasive than previous waves.

As such, and as per Ontario government legislation, this memo is to inform you that Community Living Wallaceburg has implemented a new Vaccination Policy.

This new Policy requires that all employees declare their vaccination status to the Agency.

It also requires that all unvaccinated employees must now follow several measures which are:

  • Complete an education video on the benefits of vaccination by October 1, 2021
  • Undergo Rapid Antigen Testing twice a week starting October 2, 2021, (as long as they aren’t vaccinated)

Finally, after much discussion and due consideration by the Supervisor Group, Senior Management and the Board of Directors, this policy includes the principle that employees who are not partially vaccinated by October 24th and fully vaccinated by December 5th (unless for a medical reason or human rights exemption), will be placed off work without pay and may be subject to discipline and/or termination.

We fully believe that immunization is the best and strongest means to fight the COVID-19 virus and are aiming for 100% vaccination throughout the Agency. Please know that we are committed to the health and happiness of your loved one and will continue to strive to use all the means at our disposal to stop the transmission of this virus and work towards normal, healthy and socially active lives for us all.

Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the Supervisor who you typically deal with or you can reach out to me at deborah@getintocommunityliving.com

Sincerely,

Deborah Hook Signature
