Local resident of Wallaceburg, Tascha, achieved her goal to support local animal shelters in Chatham-Kent, thanks to the generosity of our big-hearted community and Community Living Wallaceburg. A dream that she has held dear to her heart for over a year, it is thanks to the support of donations like this that help ensure shelter animals receive that “extra bit of care” to get them through the difficult, and often lonely times in the shelter.

Donations for this goal were collected during the month of February across Chatham-Kent, and delivered to the Pet & Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) March 13. When asked about the impact of the donations that had been made, “the shelter is currently facing an influx in rescues. This donation will make a significant impact towards helping us support and care for each and every animal,” shared Ben Van Eyk, Animal Control Manager for PAWR. As a gesture of gratitude, Tascha jumped at the opportunity to interact with various animals currently housed by PAWR. Seeing the animals interact with some of the toys that had been donated brought a cheerful smile to Tascha’s face.

This is a great example that with the support of those around them, people can dream, believe, overcome and achieve anything that they set their minds and hearts to.
